DOLLS IN PROGRESS

These are some of the dolls I am working on.

2 elderly ladies and on the right the start of the face of a man.I have to do a lot of work on the face.As you can see they are all smiling.

The woman at the leftside has already her clothes on but she is waiting for her parcels and bags because she has been shopping.

I like to insert the hair into the clay. It is a lot of work but when finished I can wash, cut and comb the hair. I do not like glue. As you can see below the hair is inserted in the unbaked clay.I use a fine needle, cut off half of the eye and pick up a couple of hairs in the middle and insert them into the clay.

While I was sculpting this face it began to look like the face of a man, so I thought:"Oké, than it will become a man" and I started to give it more cheekbone and such to make it more manly. You can see that at the photos at the top.

After I finished the face I inserted the hair. Almost hair by hair and he got a lot of hair. It took me all day. After I baked the head I began to model the hair and started to paint the face and a miracle happened: the man became a woman. That was such a surprise, but it shows that every doll is an adventure.

I bought the DVD sculpting legs from the famous dollmakers:" The Creagers".They build a fabulous armature for their dolls and here you can see the armature for the legs. It is soldered.

And here you can see the armature and body that I have made and I attached the legs. Everything according the way "The Creagers" also do this. I have to give to body more shape.

I find scultpting legs very difficult, but I think it looks well and she will get a skirt on so most of the legs will not be shown.

And here the hands are finished. You can see for yourself how small they are.

I have put all the parts together and right now she has all her clothes.
She is ready now to do some shopping. So I have to make her a lot of shoppingbags. Soon I will place the final pictures of her. So please come back to see her finished.

This lady is almost finished.

Her legs and her cloth body are also ready and I will assemble her shortly. I also am working at a comfortable seat for her.
