This little boy is only 19 cm/7.5"

I have to make some clothes for him.

This is Patrick, he is my first doll and just like "Rose" he is sculpted out of clay that dries by air. It took forever to finish him, (6 months) but I learned so much while I was sculpting him.

He is a somewhat older baby.

I am very proud of this sculpture. I did only once such a doll. She is life-size and sculpted out of clay that dries by air.

It took me 3 months to sculpt her. It was a huge task, but I learned so much! And I loved every minute of it.

Her name is "Rose"

After I sculpted Rose, I began to use polymerclay for my dolls. When you look at these faces you will notice that I love to sculpt faces. All those folds in the face of a crying baby.

I sculpted the head on the left a long time ago. In the beginning I had so many difficulties in sculpting ears.

Here you can see how the faces look when they are not baked yet. It is easier to take photos of the raw clay. When the clay is baked it is more difficult to take good pictures because the clay seems to absorb the light.

These heads were sculpted out of Modelene clay. That is an Australian clay. For life-size babies it is wonderfull clay. For the smaller babies and my character dolls I use Prosculpt clay.

And this is Eric. He is life-size and sculpted out of Modelene clay.

He has lovely hair. I do not like wigs, or to glue the hair on. It looks not natural. So I use another technique for all my dolls.

For my babies I make the clay of the skull sticky by rubbing some vegetable oil on it. And than I just lay the hair on the clay and push the hair into the clay.

Or I use a very fine sewingneedle. I just cut off half of the eye, pick up a couple of hairs in the middle and push the needle with the hairs into the clay.
